The Beauty of Travel  “Ya mon no problem” was a phrase I heard in Jamaica many times. Jamaicans, who are extremely nice and welcoming, are known for running a bit late and not having a real sense of urgency to get somewhere on time. I learn new things about different cultures every time I travel. Traveling is one of my favorite things to do. I love exploring new places, trying new foods at that place, experiencing new adventures, and making new memories. I think traveling is one of the best things to do with your money as those memories you make from traveling last a lifetime. Outside of the U.S. I’ve only been to Jamaica and Mexico (4 times).   American Like Me, by America Ferrera is a great book that I thoroughly enjoyed reading. As it was a colorful collection of long essays in the form of stories told by different actors, writers, and activists, it was a relatively easy read. I think America did a great job finding the right people who beautifully highlighted their varied experiences growing up in the United States to immigrant parents. Each person who authored a part of the book took a unique approach to their section describing their upbringing in a different way. I found it very interesting to see what it was like growing up in the United States, a country that is built on immigrants, from the perspective of people whose parents were immigrants themselves.   The book I’m reading is American Like Me by America Ferrera. I decided to pick this book because it looked like the most interesting choice out of the options provided. Not only did the title grab my attention, but I found it intriguing that the author’s name is “America” as well. I read a few excerpts and reviews about this book, and it stood out as a great book to read. Not only does it have a 4.34-star rating on Goodreads, but it has a lot of very positive reviews. For instance, a reviewer named Sachi says, “please stop whatever you’re doing and buy this book.” Based on these great reviews and my curiosity for what this book entails, I decided to pick it to read.
